When Quinn Sullivan meets the recipient of her boyfriend’s donated heart, the two form an unexpected connection.

After Quinn loses her boyfriend, Trent, in an accident their junior year, she reaches out to the recipients of his donated organs in hopes of picking up the pieces of her now-unrecognizable life. She hears back from some of them, but the person who received Trent’s heart has remained silent. The essence of a person, she has always believed, is in the heart. If she finds Trent’s, then maybe she can have peace once and for all.

Risking everything in order to finally lay her memories to rest, Quinn goes outside the system to track down nineteen-year-old Colton Thomas—a guy whose life has been forever changed by this priceless gift. But what starts as an accidental run-in quickly develops into more, sparking an undeniable attraction. She doesn't want to give in to it—especially since he has no idea how they're connected—but their time together has made Quinn feel alive again. No matter how hard she’s falling for Colton, each beat of his heart reminds her of all she’s lost…and all that remains at stake.

My Thoughts:

Jessi Kirby sure knows how to write a heart breaking, and emotional book. This book had me sobbing quite a few times throughout, it was so raw and so real that it was impossible not to share the heart breaking emotions with the characters and I loved every minute of it.

When Quinn loses her boyfriend, Trent, and all of his organs are donated, she reaches out to the recepients in hopes that it will make her feel closer to the love that she lost. But there was one that didn't answer her back, the one who got his heart. So she searches and tries to find the person who got Trent's heart in hopes that it will give her the closure that she needs, but she doesn't expect Colton Thomas.

It was so hard to see Quinn struggle, her emotions were so real that it made me feel like I was right there beside of her, going through the loss with her. And Colton, he was so amazing and I think that Quinn came into his life at the exact moment.

I also love the fact that Quinn not only has a close relationship with her sister, but also with her parents and her Gran. I feel like that is something we don't get a lot of YA books, which to me is kind of unrealistic, so I love the fact that this book has a great family relationship.

Things We Know By Heart is a gripping, raw, and emotional read that will shatter your emotions and leave behind a trail of tears.
