I Want It That Way (2B Trilogy #1)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nadia Conrad has big dreams, and she's determined to make them come true—for her parents' sake as well as her own. But between maintaining her college scholarship and working at the local day care to support herself, she barely has time to think, let alone date. Then she moves into a new apartment and meets the taciturn yet irresistible guy in 1B….

Daniel Tyler has grown up too fast. Becoming a single dad at twenty turned his life upside down—and brought him heartache he can't risk again. Now, as he raises his four-year-old son while balancing a full-time construction management job and night classes, a social life is out of the question. The last thing he wants is for four noisy students to move into the apartment upstairs. But one night, Nadia's and Ty's paths cross, and soon they can't stay away from each other.

The timing is all wrong—but love happens when it happens. And you can't know what you truly need until you stand to lose it.

My Thoughts:

I Want it That Way was the 4th Ann Aguirre book that I’ve read and she doesn’t disappoint. In fact, it just adds to my belief of when I pick up one of her books, I’m going to get a gripping and well written story that will leave me breathless.

Nadia is just your average 21 year old college student, working her ass off to achieve her dreams of becoming a teacher. She also works part time at a day care to fuel the cost of moving off campus to an apartment with her friends. On moving day, Nadia meets the hot but seemingly cold guy that lives downstairs and for her it was instant attraction. But there’s more to Ty than meets the eye. He’s also a single dad that pushes everyone away. But Nadia isn’t one to give up easy and since she can’t get the hot guy downstairs off her mind, things get interesting, to say the least.

I love the fact that this book is so character driven, and the characters are written so realistically that it was so easy to put yourself in their shoes. Nadia was such an easy character to relate to, she was smart, strong and so determined to follow her dreams, whether it be teaching or a certain someone downstairs. She’s not the type of person to take no for an answer when she wants something. I really LOVED Ty also, I mean a dad that will put himself on the back burner so he can do right by his son? Yeah, that’s someone to hold on to. Plus he’s really kind and considerate, not to mention the things we learn about him from the sex scenes *fans self*

The supporting characters were really amazing as well, I loved Lauren, Sam, Angus and even Max. And there are also PARENTS. Yep, even though this is a NA book, we still get to meet Nadia’s parents…more than once! And they were amazing.

Overall, I Want it That Way is a wonderful start to what I’m sure will be an amazing trilogy. If you’re a fan of the NA genre then you should definitely pick this one up.
