From Goodreads:

Mercy Thompson returns in the seventh novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Mercy Thompson’s life has undergone a seismic change. Becoming the mate of Adam Hauptman—the charismatic Alpha of the local werewolf pack—has made her a stepmother to his daughter Jesse, a relationship that brings moments of blissful normalcy to Mercy’s life. But on the edges of humanity, what passes for a minor mishap on an ordinary day can turn into so much more…

After an accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic, Mercy and Jesse can’t reach Adam—or anyone else in the pack for that matter. They’ve all been abducted.

Through their mating bond, all Mercy knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam’s disappearance may be related—and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from any ally she can get, no matter how unlikely.

Review:

I must admit that I was a little hesitant to read Frost Burned, not because I didn't like the previous books in this series, I loved them.  But because it has been two years since I read the previous book and I was afraid that I wouldn't remembered anything that had happened and not be able to get back into this series, but I'm glad to say that I was wrong. Like the previous books in this series, I was once again hooked from the very first page.

Frost Burned starts off with Mercy and Jesse hitting up the Black Friday sales, and if you know Mercy you can pretty much guess how she feels about it.  But as it turns out, those sales are the only thing that kept them from getting abducted like the rest of the pack.  After they get into a car accident and can't reach anyone on their phones, Mercy knows something is up.  She can feel the pain and anger coming from Adam through their bond and she knows that no one but her can figure out what happened and how to get the pack back, but will everyone in the pack survive until she can figure it out?

Mercy is such a wonderful character.  She's a stubborn, smartass, beacon for trouble, but she also has a very big heart and she always does what she thinks is right and she will do anything to protect the people she cares about regardless of the consequenses.  I love the relationship between Mercy and Adam, she is the only one that can argue with him and live and you can tell just how much they love each other.

Frost Burned is a great addition to the Mercy Thompson series, it is packed full of action and it has a few twists that you won't see coming.  This is definitely one of my favorite series and I can't wait to see what is in store for Mercy and Adam in the next installment Night Broken.
